Alessandro Di Rocco
MD Neurology
Dr. Alessandro Di Rocco is a highly recommended neurologist based in New York, New York, with over 20 years of clinical practice. Affiliated with major institutions like Lenox Hill Hospital and Glen Cove Hospital at Northwell Health, he earned his medical degree from the University of Genoa Faculty of Medicine. He subspecializes in movement disorders, bringing particular expertise to the treatment of Parkinson's disease, dementia, and various nervous system conditions.
Alexander Shtilbans
MD, PhD, Neurologist
Dr. Alexander Shtilbans is a board-certified neurologist and physician-scientist specializing in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson's disease. After earning a PhD in molecular biology, he completed his medical degree and residency at Mount Sinai followed by a movement disorders fellowship at Columbia University. Currently, he is a co-Principal Investigator on an NIH R01 grant investigating how brain iron accumulation relates to Parkinson's pathology to help develop therapies that slow disease progression.

Martin A. Goldstein

In 2007, researchers at Mount Sinai mapped brain activity related to anticipatory anxiety, or dread, using functional MRI scans. The study distinguished dread from immediate fear by analyzing the passive anticipation of a painful stimulus. Findings identified the anterior cingulate cortex, a collar-shaped brain region, as the primary area activated by this psychological state.
Rebecca Gilbert

Dr. Rebecca Gilbert joined the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) in 2018, where she currently oversees their research portfolio and guides their educational programming strategy. She holds an MD and a PhD from Cornell University and completed her advanced neurology and movement disorders training at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Prior to her executive leadership role at the APDA, she served as an Associate Professor of Neurology at NYU Langone Medical Center and continues to treat patients weekly at Bellevue Hospital Center.
